Dear Shareholder
I am pleased to enclose International Power's Annual Report to shareholders for the year ended 31 December 2006.
In 2006 profit from operations increased significantly from £536 million in 2005 to 773 million and EPS increased from 14.6 to 22.4p. This principally reflects the improvement in the UK and US merchant markets, the good operational performance of our existing assets and continued growth of the business. As a result the Board is proposing a dividend of 7.9p, an increase of 75% over the previous year. This dividend payment is expected to be made on 26 June 2007 to those shareholders registered at the close of business on 25 May 2007.
Along with this letter is our Notice of Annual General Meeting (AGM), which includes explanatory notes outlining the business of the AGM. The AGM will be held on Tuesday 15 May 2007 at ExCeL London. One Western Gateway. Royal Victoria Dock, London, E16 1XL, commencing at 10.30am. Details of how to reach this venue are set out on page 8 of the Notice.
