International Power hosted an analyst conference in Melbourne, Australia on the 9-10 April 2008.
Australia is one of our three major merchant markets and Asia is a core long-term contracted market. In aggregate these two regional markets contributed just under 20% of our profit from operations in the year ended 31 December 2007.
Tony Concannon – Executive Director, Australia
Tony is a chartered engineer. He joined the industry in 1982 and has worked in a number of business areas including power station operations in the UK, trading and international business development (based in Asia). He took on his current role as International Power’s Managing Director, Australia in August 2003. Tony was appointed to the Board in January 2004.
Tony was the sole energy sector representative on the former Government’s Prime Ministerial Emissions Trading Taskforce and represents International Power Australia across a range of high-level industry associations including the Business Council of Australia and the Energy Supply Association of Australia.
